Created over a period of seven years, Purification and Renewal is a continuation of the artist's extensive exploration into the human condition and desire for transcendence. Faces of the figures are obscured, allowing them to become universal human forms.  The light source is a spiritual dimension, at times a divine glow and others a burning, consuming inferno. Compositionally, the work is often symmetrical, containing circular geometric elements. These circular aspects suggest everything from mysterious portals, to the Buddhist wheel of life, to the bondage of this mortal coil and pull the viewer in with an almost dreamlike sensation of vertigo.
