Sensual and romantic abstractions often derived from common objects, continue Myers’ interest in materials, fabrication techniques, and issues of formalism. Gifford Myers has produced and exhibited work in diverse materials including lead, bronze, aluminum, industrial tiles, found objects, ceramics, and now fiberglass.
Myers last work in fiberglass was a soapbox derby car at the age of eleven.
Past solo exhibitions include Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Seto Art Museum, Japan, and the International Museum of Ceramics, Faenza, Italy.
Myers transforms the reality that surrounds him through wit, a free spirit and a strong capacity for observation. Dante Stefani, President, International Museum
